New York Fashion Week starts in less than two weeks, Gwen gave birth to Zuma only a weeks ago. So I guess there will be no LAMB fashion show this year.
In 2007 Kingston was 4 months old and taking part in the spring 2007 show at NYFW.
This time we have to wait to see the goodies. Family comes first. :)

Remember MC Hammers pants from the 1990s? Who can forget such a trend... And now the harem pants are back on the runway! I have actually seen a couple of them live already. Both pants and capris.
First we have suffered through the skinny jeans trend, followed by the high-waist. And now the harem pants? Undeniable comfy but nice? Would you wear it? Is it ugly-but-kind-of-cool or just plain ugly? I personally can't say for sure. Never say never, I might end up wearing one....

Sneakers

Did a little cleaning in the closet and noticed that my sneaker collection has grown a bit lately. Time for a review.

Adidas jogging trainers. The best trainers ever. Have worn them every day for months and they have began to makes queaky sounds so I guess it's time to get a new pair.
LAMB gold sneakers. Should have bought the white ones....
Retro Adidas with pink and beige stripes. Bought this winter and almost forgotten. Cool.
Nike Shox. Bought at midnight at Time Square after a long day of intense walking. Too wide for my feet. I have learned that Nike shoes in general are too wide for me. Must remember to never buy Nike again (shoes that is).
Cheap Blend shoes. Rather ugly but have been worn a couple of times in lack of something better.
Adidas racing shoes. Really comfy and fits like a glove.
Adidas superstar grafitti grey. A bit too big but worn a lot with a sole inside.
Adidas superstar original black and white. Inheritied today from my nephew who didn't think they were cool enough for him to wear at school. :)

There's something funny about the Adidas sizing. They don't carry my size as a whole number so the options are either the lower size plus 2/3 or my size plus 1/3. Both can work, it depends on the width of the shoe. The racing shoes are the lower size plus 2/3. Perfect fit. But then again, maybe leather stretches. The superstars are my size plus 1/3. A tiny bit on the bigger side but works well with soles.

On to the sandals.... :)

Autumn boots

I guess it's time to face the fact that autumn is just around the corner. I think the winter is much too long here in Norway. Anyway, one of the good things about the new cold season is the need for change of wardrobe.
One of my favourite winter items is boots. I'm not sure how hot the biker boots are this season but this pair from Miu Miu looks great. A classic look with a cool twist. Hot stuff.

Beijing Olympics

I was watching parts of the opening ceremony today and boy were there some hideous outfits! Did you see Kazakhstan? If there was a bad taste award they would win it for sure. The Norwegian athletes wore white and grey outfits from Ricco Vero. Simple but nice.

The show was very nice, I'm very interested in Chinese history so I really enjoyed it.

Jeans

I used to be a Diesel girl. Then I discovered Rock & Republic. I still love the R&R jeans but they are not for sale here where I live. Buying online is just not the same as the real thing.
So I have been wearing all kinds of jeans like Replay, Miss Sixty, Levis etc.
Now I have a new favourite: Le temps des Cerises. It started out it with a capri that I really liked wearing. Then I bought a pair of LTC jeans; nothing special about the design, just very comfy and nice. Recently I bought a new pair of capris/bermudas on sale. The new fall jeans models have also arrived so as soon as I fell that summer is over I will definately check them out. The big thing about this brand is the fact that the fabric is super soft. It's pretty thin so it may not last for years, but the jeans you fell well in are always worth hanging on to. So if you're looking for a new pair of jeans I can recommend LTC.

The weather is just so amazing over here. The days are just packed with fun outdoor activities like grilling, playing ball, eating tons of strawberries, relaxing in the sun with a good book (right now: Ken Follett - The Pillars of the Earth, highly recommended!) in addition to our long daily ritual powerwalks. So sorry, no time for blogging...

Scottish plaid - trend alert

I love the traditional red scottish plaid pattern. I'm desperate to buy a skirt in this pattern. I actually think I have one from years ago but haven't managed (read: bothered) to try to find it. I think I saw a skirt like this at Lindex, I have to check it out.

My prediction is that we will see a lot of scottish plaids this winter. My dream is to get a tailored jacket with extra long sleeves, lots of zippers and a waist belt in a very slim model. A mix of a suit and a motorcycle jacket.

A fresh androgynous trend is the mens suit vest. Get an oversized one. Looks best worn with only a singlet under. Or why not dress it up with a shirt, and maybe even a tie?

Did a little shopping today.

A purple top from Fransa and a grey maxidress from Vila. Both 50% off. Yes, I know. When am I going to wear this dress? I really need to get invited to more formal parties or weddings. :) Anyway, the dress was very cheap. Only 200 NOK! ($40). What was I supposed do? Leave it hanging there all alone?

Well, not exactly a new trend but worth to mention...
Now that we've finally gotten comfortable with the skinny jeans it's back to the flared leg again. Faded flares are very hot right now. Just take a look at Victoria Beckham's dvb jeans.

Our new sofa has arrived. It's the IKEA-classic "Karlstad" in white leather. 3 seat with a chaiselong.

Fits in very good with the "Tirup" chair, also in white leather.

The sofa has an early James Bond/Retro/Miami feel to it. Very comfy too. It's inspired from the Florence Knoll sofa form the 1950's.
I'm going to change the feet of the sofa as soon as I can. These are the standard that comes with the sofa. I'm thinking about getting the steel ones.

eBay fined

eBay has been ordered to pay nearly 40 million euros(63 million dollars) in damages to Louis Vuitton for selling fake items, like handbags. Wow, that is truly a lot of money!
eBay has been accused of not doing enough to prevent the sale of fakes, also they did not have legal permission to sell some authentic products.
It seems like many people are not aware of the fact that selling fakes is illegal. There are tons of auctions out there where people are selling fakes. Sometimes it's hard to spot a fake but other times its very easy. I have personally made a few sellers aware of the fact that their products are fake. Some claim they didn't know, others just ignore it. Such a shame for people buying what they think are originals and eventually find out it isn't (hopefully they do). When buying from auctions always remember: if it's too good be true, it probably is!

Since I'm now spending big parts of my days outdoors I need a new jacket suited for the purpose. I need something that can handle the rough climate in Norway, but at the same time be suitable for warmer weather. In other words something windproof and light.

I have always refused to own a so-called "allværsjakke", a hardshell jacket that can be seen on almost every Norwegian. Yes it's almost like a uniform over here, just try counting the number of jackets you can see in one day... Most often in horrible colours and no variation in the design. (To their defense, I must that the design has improved a lot the recent years.)

An example of the really annoying Bergans jacket that I wouldn't be seen in. Horrible.

Anyway, I need a softshell jacket. I came across this Italian brand: Wild roses and want to check it out. For women only.

LTC capri

I wonder if Le temps des cerises (aka Japan Rags) have a capri out this season. They have released one each summer the last 2-3 years. Very nice brand. The denim is is soft I'm almost scared to wear it. But it lasts, my capri must be at least 3 years now and is still wearable. It begins to show signs of wear though so I would like to replace it.
