Head over heels
I'm not a sensible shopper. When I buy a coat it's not because it's warm, cheap or practical. Well, If I do buy it for one of those reasons I must be pretty desperate for a coat.
And now it's happened again. I've put myself in one of those 'heart before head' situations.
A few weeks ago I noticed this magnificent coat by the Norwegain designer label Maggie Wonka in a fashion spread. It was way too outgoing and special. Brocade with detachable fur collar and cuffs (fake of course). Lots of stuff going on when it came to design and fabrics but no matter what, it hit me straight in the heart.
I remember for once feeling a bit glad designer pieces never reach this little city I live in (out of sight, out of mind...). But know it's here. And it's fabulous. And I have no reasons to get it. In fact, I have quite a few reaons for _not_ getting it:
A picture from the Oslo Fashion week show to give you an idea but it looks much better in RL.

- It's not a good winter coat (no lining)
- It's way too special, once you wear it everybody will notice it. This of course is a good thing but the bad thing is that you might get tired of it after a short while.
- The arms were a bit too shirt when removing the fake fur cuffs. This is often a problem to me when it comes to coats. The smaller sizes should come with longer arms (like jeans, with leg length). This can be fixed but the coat should be perfect when you buy it, considering the price...
- This brings us to the last point. It's too expensive. About 6000 NOK. I don't think it's a bad price for a coat, had it been a warmer more usable piece. (Like the precious leather coat that I bought last year)
