Gucci at Milan Fashion week

Love it, love it, love it!

Fashion sense

When you' re a true fashionista you always choose style over comfort. Just look at Gwen carrying Kingston in six inch YSL Tribute pumps. You gotta love it. Some critics claim she puts her child in danger but Gwen has performed in sky high heels for years and definitively knows how to wear them. Respect.

A funny coincidence is that I'm also wearing a shirt and tie today, outfit chosen prior to seeing this picture. Maybe I'll wear it with heels next time :)

By Malene Birger 2007

The By Malene Birger spring/summer 2007 collection is so nice. Very elegant and feminine. The look is quite organic with mostly materials like cotton and wool. Everything looks comfortable and soft in a relaxed laidback style.

The jewel in the crown is this pair of sandals. Very very nice. Also available in black and white. Looks great with skirts, jeans and shorts.

Valentino dress

I came across a picture of the original Valentino dress that Cameron Diaz wore at the Golden Globes . I was sure she had added the bow herself to match her new hair colour but it's original. It seems the only alteration she did was to add lining.

M by Madonna

Shopping does not inspire me these days, very few exiting news. The "M by Madonna" will be in H&M stores this March but I don't think it will be a highlight. Looks quite boring but at least better than the tracksuits from last year. Mostly black and white shirts, skirts and dresses. A few nice accessories like sunglasses and shoes. Not worth waiting in line for hours.
1. The kimono dress looks quite nice but the risk of not being the only one at the party wearing it is very high.
2. Tie and waist belt. Looks chic but so last year.

New coat - a love story

It started already before Christmas. I was looking for a new winter jacket since the zipper in my old one had broken. I tried every jacket I came across, not paying attention to factors such as price. I fell in love with this fabulously soft and warm all sheep skin coat. Unfortunately it was way too expensive (to quote my little nephew: 'you can buy a whole flock of sheeps for that!') so I couldn't buy it.

Of course I ended up comparing every other jacket to this one and didn't manage to find one I was pleased with. Then after Christmas the sale started and the coat was 30 percent off. Still way out of budget. I started stopping by the store every time i went by to monitor the sale. The next month it was 50 percent off. So tempting. Luckily I was talked out of buying it by some more rational minds...
Weeks went by and I was constantly watching it. So comes this Saturday. I had been sick for a couple of days and was feeling really bad. But for some strange reason I just had to stop by the store. I was going on and off about it. I don't wanna go, I have to go.

Well, I went and the first thing I was was this big 70% sign. My heart beated like crazy and it felt like all blood was leaving my head. I approached the rack almost sure the coat was moved to another rack. And there, one coat was hanging!! They only had a total of three, one in each size and two were gone! My hands were shaking and I couldn't find the tag fast enough. And amazingly enough, it was my size! I grabbed the coat and walked away feeling like I had just commited a big crime.

I was sure it had to be a mistake. Totally confused and in a daze I walked around trying to look at the other clothes. Of course I wasn't able to see anything else and my mind was a total mess. I was so afraid something was wrong, maybe the coat was hung wrong etc.

Finally I headed for the pay desk. The sales person scanned tag and the 70% reduced price popped up.
Happiness. I walked around with a big smile on my face the rest of the day.

I love it so much, I hope we will never part.

Boooring

I was looking forward to the NYFW Diesel show yesterday but I must say I'm very disappointed. I usually like their design and originality but this was just so boring.
High waisted metallic pants, short wide skirts and shorts. Black and white, purple.

NYWF Mattew Williamson

Another great runway show from Matthew Williamson today. We see more silver metallics, purple and orange. Mini sweaterdresses, shorts, ankle boots, big jewellery and handbags.

I like

the Michael Kors boots from net-a-porter. I like the simple and classic design but most of the knee high length. My only concern is the height of the heels. 100mm might be a bit too much.

R&R at NY fashion week

Rock & Republic showed their fall 2007 collection this Sat. They stay true to the rock star look, this time with more glamour added. Gold, silver and purple metallics. A splash of red and blue.

NY fashion week

...has started and one of the first shows was Baby Phat.

The colours ranged from neutral brown and greys to red and purple. Metallics were used in the more glamorous pieces. Fabrics such as silk, brocade and velvet put the luxurious touch to the young rough urban style that is typical for Baby Phat.
A very nice put together collection.

What a joke

Victoria Beckham announced this week that she will only use healthly-looking models for her new denim line. Size zero models are banned. "Victoria wants to give out a positive image that you don't have to be ultra-skinny to look good," said a company spokesman. "Many of the models on the catwalk make young girls feel insecure about their own bodies."

Busy, Busy, Busy

I've been an extremly busy working girl lately. No time for shopping.
I guess the sale is finally over and the new stuff have arrived. Looking forward to check it out. Maybe this weekend.
Even if I haven't been able to get outside much I still managed to do a purchase. I bought the Rock&Repulic Kiedis Skull jeans on ebay. Very pleased with it. R&R jeans are super comfy to wear.

I'm looking for a pair of ankle boots. This pair from ASOS look quite nice. I would like a thicker heel though. There's also a pair at Bianco that I like. But not very comfortable. No pictures online but in the same style as these boots. Which are also not too bad.
