Hot phones

I'm stuck with my old Sony Ericsson K700i. Quite sad since there are so many cool cell phones out there.

The Lipstick phone
This phone was introduced in 2004 and was the first with this amazing innovative design. I still love it but I'll admit its not very practical. It has no keyboard so texting is very complicated.

Such a stylish collection. Includes details in materials such as leather, metal, glass and ceramics. They seem to be a popular feature in music videos. The 7380 takes the 7280 one step further.

Pimp my phone
If you can't afford a new phone why not add some bling bling to the one you've got. If you really want to go over the top you can cover your phone in Swarovski Crystals. Very popular amongst celibrities.

Tick tock tick tock

After having her baby Gwen is back and now she's busy designing watches. The watches are made by Vestal and will be out in August.

She is also expanding her footwear line to include boots and stilettos in addition to baby tennis shoes.

The WAGS

They're getting more attention in the British press than the World Cup players. They're the wifes and girlfriends of the England team.

They're spending ridiculous amounts on clothes, sunglasses, shoes and seemed to be competing to see who could take the most luggage to Germany.
The key elements of the WAG-uniform seems to be oversized sunglasses, shorts and a huge leather handbag. Even Beckham's 7 year old son Brooklyn has his own Louis Vuitton messenger bag!

Rollin' in cashmere...

H&M introduces 'harmony', a new one time collection of 'soft and easy, feminine body-skimming shapes'. The key thing to this colection is being comfortable and it is inspired by ballet, Pilates and yoga. Tranquil colors and soft fabrics such as cashmere, mohair and silk will be used.

The limited collection will be in stores from September 2006.

Fake jeans

As I mention earlier the market is flooded with fake Rock & Republic jeans. One of the most faked styles is the 'Crystal Roths' with swarovski crystal details. Sometimes it can be hard to spot a fake from a real one, other times it's very easy. Here's an example.

Look at the one to the right. The placement of the crystals is totally wrong and they look like plastic. And if that wasn't enough: the tag is placed upside down!

Other things to look for if the first impression isn't as clear as in this case:
- inseam: the inseam on original R&R's is always at least 34.
- wash/distressing: this is always identical on every pair and should never differ.
- crystals: The crystals should always be placed perfectly and fill all of the open area of the R. They should be very sparkly and reflective, not plastic-looking.
- the r's: The R on the back pockets of original R&R's have sharp pointed edges. The top loop and the leg of the R should be exaggerated. The R should fill out the entire pocket and stretch from seam to seam.

Another example. One of the newest R&R models is the 'winger' and unfortunately it is already highly faked. I've even seen a lot of this in the Norwegian market. All the fakes I've seen of this model so far is very easy to spot.

The top of the pockets should be wavy, not straight as on this fake. Another thing to watch is the seams of "the wing". They should start closer and stretch out more curvy.

No fur

I'm very happy to see that Polo Ralph Lauren has announced that they will stop using fur in the company's products, starting with the Christmas 2006 collection. This decision makes Polo Ralph Lauren the first major designer house to boycott fur since designer Calvin Klein did so in the mid-1990s.
I really hope that other designers will follow this initiative and say no to fur.

Madonna + H&M

H&M announced today that Madonna has signed a collaboration deal.
H&M will supply a complete off stage wardrobe for all members of her touring troupe including her band, dancers, crew members and the Material girl herself.
Also, a specially designed Madonna track suit which will be available in H&M stores in mid August.

Royal style

Even if you're a royalty with a massive budget and personal stylists it can be hard to know what to wear. Look at this awful outfit that Crown Princess Mette-Marit was wearing at a galla dinner earlier this week. Compared to her sister-in-law it was a very sad sight.

Summer party

I'm invited to a summer party next weekend. The first thing that comes to my mind is of course what to wear. Warm summer nights, cool drinks, dancing by the pool....
This is what I would like to wear to a summer party:


1. Zac Posen dress, Jimmy Choo sandals and evening bag.

Oh well. Time to get back to reality. This is Norway. It has been raining all day and it's freezing cold. Here are som ideas for what to wear to a summer party in Norway.
If the party is held outside it can be good to wear jeans. And that doesn't have to be a bad thing. You can dress it up by choosing a satin or chiffon top. And of course: do not forget to accessorize. If you can, wear heels with jeans for a chic look. A good alternative to heels is a pair of metallic ballet flats.

Rock & Republic

Diesel, Seven, True Religion... they all make nice jeans. But the true leader in the jeans world is Rock & Republic. The influences for the collections has been music and their fashion shows are more like rock concerts. Their jeans are named after rock icons such as Mick Jagger, Joan Jett, David Lee Roth, Stevie Nicks and Lenny Kravitz.

Hollywood celebrities love the jeans and when Cameron Diaz spoke of the Rock & Republic jeans as “the wonder bra for my butt” it really took off.
In 2004 "VB Rocks", the Victoria Beckham For Rock & Republic Jeans collection was released. This created a huge demand and the jeans were sold-out in no time.

If you want a pair of R&R you must be very aware. The market is flooded with fakes. I would say that 90% of the R&R jeans on eBay are fakes. Things to watch out for are buttons, washes, lables and length.
